A Socio-ethical Study on Crime

Abstract
As it is said that where there are crimes, there is a society; and where there is a society, there are crimes ; such that it is true that crimes are the products of a society and an age. This writer aims to study crimes socio-ethically. It is important to grasp the substance and tendency of crimes, and it is especially significant to study the details of crimes socio-ethically because crimes disturb the social order of a nation and cause the acceleration of social uneasiness, and the deterioration of nationalmorale. 1. The constituent ratio of the sex of the violators varies among nations and their cultures, but it is shown that the number violations of males are higher than that of females. 2. The high rate of juvenile deliquency has much to do with their physical and psychological characteristics. It is shown that the highest number of violations of the law occurs between the ages of 20 and 30 yrs. 3. The economic violations prevail more in the lower class than in the higher class in the societies of underdeveloped countries, and consequently it is needed to reduce the economic difference between the social classes. 4. Family function and crimes are closely related and the disruption and misdeeds of a family can easily lead to all kinds of crimes and misdeeds. Avoiding the family conflict and giving parents good counselling are the first steps in preventing he commission of crimes. 5. The vicious circulation of destitution and poor circumstances is one of the vital factors in the yielding of crimes. As a modern society becomes industrialized and scientific, the rate of commission of every sort of crime increases, and to prevent this phenomenon we should decrease the unemployment rate and the economic and social discontent must be removed as much as possible. 6. Also closely related are urbanization and crime, and it is shown that the increasing rate of crimes in the urban area is about sixty times higher than that in the rural area. It is highly recommended that criminal prevention policies be made according to do the urbanization tendency. 7. The formation of a definite view of values is another matter. Those nations which are highly educated have a high cultural inheritance and they are enjoying a higher civilization. In order to establich a society without crimes and misdeeds, it is desirable to form a definite view of values which will help prevent all kinds of crimes and misdeeds.
